SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF GAS FUEL TRIALS ON LNG CARRIER
Santa Ana, CA. (October 23, 2015) — ACD LLC (a subsidiary of Cryogenics Industries) announces that The Peninsula, Qatar’s leading English daily newspaper, published an article last October 14th chronicling the successful completion of the second phase of main engine gas injection system trials on one of the world’s largest LNG carriers owned by shipping company Nakilat. A copy of the article can be found at the following link http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/business/qatar-business/354959/qatargas-completes-gas-fuel-trials-on-q-max-ship .
Jim Estes, ACD’s Managing Director said “ACD takes a great deal of pride in having collaborated on this project which employs ACD technology for LNG propulsion. The high pressure LNG fuel gas system was engineered, manufactured and tested at ACD’s facilities in Southern California USA.”
According to Estes, “ACD has already delivered 14 high pressure and 25 low pressure LNG fuel systems for 2 and 4 stroke marine propulsion engines, has a significant backlog for deliveries through 2017 and anticipates receiving several new contracts over the next few months.”
Stating that the marine business is no longer a product/business development activity for ACD; Estes unveiled ACD’s new management structure that integrates the marine related activities into its core Engineered Projects Operations. The new organizational structure is geared to focus the company’s technical resources into its four core businesses Turbines, Marine, Reciprocating and Centrifugal pumps and systems. In addition, Estes announced the formation of a “Project Management Office” that will establish a standardized Project Management Process for all its engineered projects and ensure that ACD’s Project Management Standards are harmonized with Industry standards. Estes added “our Project Management Office is led by a seasoned professional and staffed with experienced project engineers that are familiar with our technologies and our customer needs.”
In closing, Estes announced that ACD has begun testing the next generation LNG fuel supply pumps for high pressure marine applications. He indicated that this breakthrough in technology will transform reliability standards; it has a very compact footprint, simplified piping and valve infrastructure, elimination wearable components, pulsation free flow and zero methane slip.
